America

After a refreshing night in Diane's downstairs suite in Topeka, we took Minerva out to the backyard and gave her quite a few chucks of the ball.  She was quite happy to run off some energy.

I gave a copy of my book to Diane, said our goodbyes and we went looking for some breakfast.  We found pizza and bagel place that was full of red white and blue dressed elderly couples.  We got half a dozen bagels and sat outside and had breakfast. Minerva was not too happy with the fact that there was a fireworks tent around the corner that was sampling their wares quite loudly.

Yeu-Fann seemed to like his all spice bagel and I liked my triberry. We packed the extras back in the little cooler and headed off!
Waze took us through some pretty countryside and some fun little towns, including one namesake:
We ended our day in Godfrey, Illinois where we had dinner with Dave's family. We headed back for a quick dinner/cocktail with Athorne, who was not looking forward to his EMT shift that was going to start at 3 am.  People tended to be crazy with their drunken Fourth of July fireworks. Once back in the hotel, all our plans kinda went away and we took the opportunity to just chill for 2 hours.
