Charlie on the MTA
Finally at Jenny's. Was not the smoothest trips but I've had worse. The plane from JFK to PHX was delayed by 30 min due to some required maintenance then another 30 min diversion due to weather. I barely made my connection to LAX and after our plane finally landed in LAX, we were forced to drive around and around the runway for over an hour after three arrival gate changes. Our captain noted that we were taxiing for about half an hour longer than our flight time and alluded to the song "Charlie on the MTA" by the Kingston Trio - we could see the gates we were assigned but just as we were pulling near, we got reassigned and sent into another loop. He even played the song through the intercom shortly before we finally were able to get off. It's captains like that with a sense of humor that help get through stressful flights. Kudos to him.

Well, the day's finally here - the start of a three week road trip with Jenny that is sure to be once in a lifetime. Finished up my work for the morning and have given instructions to my charges and now it's time for vacation.
It's been a busy month of traveling already. First, I went to Jenny's concert at the Long Beach Aquarium early in June and just last week, visited my parents and Kat (plus her boyfriend) back in NC. Very glad I got TSA Pre-Check. If anyone doesn't have it, I highly recommend it (or Global Entry which is $15 more but includes it). I essentially have had no security lines to go through and it's a breeze not having to take shoes off, laptop out, etc.
Going away for three weeks, I think this will be my longest trip since I graduated from high school. I've done a few two week trips but being gone three weeks, I'm nervous I'll forget something important but oh well... Three weeks with Jenny! The long weekend over Spring Break in Sonora with her was awesome so I'm really looking forward to this trip.
My plane leaves from JFK around 1:15 PM to LAX via PHX so heading out the door soon and then it's see ya NYC until July 18.
For anyone curious, here's our itinerary:
